Blood Meridian - Characters #1

Inspired by Cormac McCarthy's literary masterpiece 'Blood Meridian' - The Glanton Gang. A murderous pack of nomadic scalp hunters who robbed, tortured, brutalized and killed as they cut a bloody swathe through the borderlands of Mexico and the USA in 1849. Whilst employed by the Mexican authorities to eliminate the Apache, for increased income the gang also scalped peaceful agricultural Mexicans and aboriginal Americans to claim the bounty for scalps.

Having just had my mind utterly blown reading Cormac McCarthy's 'Blood Meridian' (rightfully described as 'the ultimate western'), I felt compelled to create images of the characters as I visualised them. If you haven't read the book I can't recommend it enough....a hypnotic, violent, poetic and hallucinatory work of art.
